You don't have the type of season South Carolina had without several of your players being recognized for all-conference honors.

Christian Walker and Michael Roth headline several recognized Gamecocks by the league's 12 coaches for earning all-conference honors.

Walker was the only Gamecock to earn first team All-SEC Honors by the league's coaches. Closer Matt Price wound up on the second team All-SEC this season. Michael Roth earned the honor of the SEC's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and also was chosen as part of the SEC's All-Defensive Team.

Outfielder Evan Marzilli was chosen as part of the SEC's All-Defensive Team with Michael Roth while three freshman earned All-SEC Freshman Team honors. Those players were: SS Joey Pankake, C Grayson Greiner and OF Tanner English.

Congratulations to these Gamecocks honored for their outstanding play in 2012. The future is bright as evidenced by the three Gamecocks on the All-Freshman Team. Those three players have made an immediate impact on USC this season and should continue to do so in the coming years. The Gamecocks will have to find a way to replace Michael Roth this offseason as he's been a leader since the 2010 College World Series.

All in all, it's been another outstanding year for the Gamecocks baseball team.
