2012 Olympics Video: Aly Raisman Wins Gold in Gymnastics Floor Exercise, Bronze in Beam

| by Alex Groberman

Gabby Douglas will inevitably be remembered as the biggest gymnastics star of the 2012 London Olympics, and rightfully so. It’s just unfortunate that Aly Raisman's strong showing has to go largely unnoticed as a result.

On Tuesday, Raisman added two more medals to her collection with a gold in floor exercise and a bronze in beam. Prior to today, no U.S. women’s gymnast had over won a floor exercise at the Olympics.

When it was all said and done, Raisman finished with a score of 15.6. Romania’s Catalina Ponor finished second with a score of 15.2 and Russia’s Aliya Mustafina took bronze with a 14.9.

In total, Raisman collected three medals at the 2012 Games and, while not the biggest star, was probably America’s most consistent performer throughout.

ESPN breaks down Raisman’s showing on Tuesday in the video below.
