The Los Angeles Kings won their second overtime game of the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals much in the same way that they won their first – with a clutch goal just when it looked like the tide may have started to turn. Jeff Carter nailed the game-winner with 6:18 left in the extra session and, in doing so, gave his squad an impressive 2-0 series leading heading back to Los Angeles.
"I just took it wide and came around the net and tried to get it out of the way of all the sticks and it went home," Carter said afterward.
Saturday night marked the first time in over 60 years that the first two showdowns of the Stanley Cup Finals ended up going into overtime.
