Marc Staal Takes Puck to Eye During Rangers-Flyers (Video)

New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal was hit in the eye with a puck during the third period of his team’s 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

The gruesome incident took place with slightly less than six minutes remaining in the outing, and left the 26-year-old laying face down in a puddle of blood before he was eventually helped off the ice.

Staal did not return to the game.

The Rangers are expected to give an update on Staal’s status at some point on Wednesday.
