Los Angeles Mayor Drops F-Bomb at L.A. Kings' Victory Rally (Video)
Toronto, Canada, Mayor Rob Ford was the only big city mayor willing to curse in public, until yesterday.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti intentionally dropped the F-bomb during a celebratory speech for the L.A. Kings at the Staples Center in Los Angeles (video below). The Kings were celebrating their second Stanley Cup win.
Mayor Garcetti's speech was broadcast live on Fox Sports West without censorship, but an announcer did say: “On behalf of Fox Sports West, we’d like to apologize for the inappropriate language heard earlier back inside,” noted the Daily News.
"There are two rules in politics," said Mayor Garcetti. "They say, 'Never, ever be pictured with a drink in your hand' and 'never swear,' but this is a big f----- day! Way to go guys!"
The mayor then got a long standing ovation from the Kings and their fans.
Later on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Mayor Garcetti defended his swearing, noted CBS Los Angeles.
“You’ve got to remember, we didn’t win at lawn-bowling, I mean we won in hockey,” Mayor Garcetti stated. “So, kids out there, do not say what your mayor said today.”
