Vikings, Redskins Have Deal in Place for McNabb?

| by Off The Record

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that the Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings have agreed to a deal that will send QB Donovan McNabb to the purple guys. The only thing now is that McNabb has to agree to a new contract for it to go through.

McNabb signed a ridiculous extension last season with a Redskins team that didn’t seem to want him. So now, he’s due $12.5 million and the Vikings don’t want to a pay that to a guy who is a seat warmer for first-round pick Christian Ponder.

While it’s not a done deal yet, it would be a pretty good situation for McNabb as long as they don’t make him feel like he has to look over his shoulder. He’d have the running game he never had (early in his Eagles career they ran the ball a bit, but you know what I mean) and an offensive line that doesn’t have Stephon Hoyer on it.

Stay tuned.
