Robert Griffin III getting hurt was inevitable. That sounds like a mean thing to say about someone but, if you’ve seen the way he has played thus far, you know it’s a statement of fact.

For all of his supposed genius, Mike Shanahan has been unable to find a way to keep his young stud quarterback out of harm’s way. And on Sunday, during Washington’s eventual loss to the Atlanta Falcons, it finally caught up to all involved.

Check it out:

Sean Witherspoon’s hit was solid, obviously, but if it hadn't been that, it would have been something else. RGIII’s consistent refusal to go down when he should go down and the Redskins’ puzzling inability to get him to do what he needs to do for long-term success in this league brought us to this point.

After the game, Shanahan said that RGIII had a ‘mild’ concussion. Make of that what you will.
