There are two key things to remember when analyzing the ins and outs of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski’s ankle injury.
One, he is undeniably an integral part of the Patriots offense and any injury that slows him down will undoubtedly slow down the rest of his unit down as well. Two, the media is absolutely nuts over the two-week span after the Conference Championship games and before the Super Bowl.
Seriously – they’re crazy.
They will over-analyze any little thing, if for no other reason than because they have nothing else to do for that two-week stretch besides over-analyzing every little thing. So when you couple the impact Gronkowski has on the Patriots and the possible ramifications of him being anything less than 100 percent with the media’s incessant need to cover every little detail relating to the Super Bowl, you get the 24/7 surveillance of Gronkowski’s ankle that you’ve been getting.
Realizing the type of watch he’s on these days, the fun-loving Patriots big man decided to mock the media a little bit in his own special way.
