Step Aside Cowboys; Packers Now "America's Team"
The decades-long reign of the Dallas Cowboys as "America's Team" appears to be over -- the Green Bay Packers are the king of the hill.
ESPN.com reports that a new survey by Public Policy Polling found 22% of people said the Packers were their favorite team. The Cowboys got just 11% of the vote.
The Bears, Giants and Steelers each got 8%.
Green Bay's popularity has been building for the past few seasons; their Super Bowl win in February and their just-derailed run for perfection this season put them over the top.
The Cowboys probably shouldn't look forward to reclaiming the mantle anytime soon -- they were also voted the least popular team. The Packers finished third in that vote.
