Seattle Seahawks Grant Former USC Recruit Brian Banks a Tryout

| by

According to the Associated Press, the Seattle Seahawks have offered former USC recruit Brian Banks a tryout with the team.

Banks hasn't accepted the invitation yet.

Banks was recently exonerated of rape and kidnapping charges that forced him to spend a lot of his prime football years in jail.

However, he is still pretty young at 26, so he has a lot of years left. The once talented linebacker was supposed to be a star defensive player at USC until he got wrongfully accused.

Here's more from AP:

About four hours after walking out of his hotel room, Banks stood before a bank of television cameras announcing the Seahawks have invited him back for their minicamp next week.

Banks has not accepted the invitation yet. He says he needs to speak with his agent and determine whether Seattle is his best option.

But Banks, wearing a sweatshirt with "XONR8" on the front, said he was extremely appreciative that the Seahawks and Carroll are giving him a chance.
