Season-High Arrests at Packers-Bears Game at Lambeau

Green Bay Packers fans appear to be getting rowdier as the end of an almost-perfect season nears. Police report a season-high number of arrests during Sunday night's game against the Bears.

The Associated Press reports that 20 arrests were made during the game. WBAY-TV said there were also 49 ejections. During a typical game, 15-20 are kicked out for various infractions.

Officials point to several reasons for the extra-bad behavior:

-- It was a night game, so fans had all Christmas day to booze it up.
-- The Packers were playing the Chicago Bears, their arch-rivals.
-- Since the game was played on Christmas night, many season-ticket holders may have sold their tickets to fans who may never have been in Lambeau Field before and didn't follow the usual rules.

The final game of the season will be played on New Year's Day. That should be interesting. Either the stands will be filled with calm, hung-over people, or fans who never stopped drinking from the night before.
