The NFL regular season just ended Sunday, but teams are already making changes. The Bears, Jets and Falcons have all fired their head coaches after missing the playoffs.
Marc Trestman lasted two season with the Bears, who missed the playoffs for the fourth straight year. This year, the Bears ended the season 5-11 under Trestman, who still appreciated the opportunity.
"I also want to thank all the coaches and players who gave us everything we asked over the past two years," Trestman said in a statement. "I have tremendous respect for this organization. Chicago is a special city with great fans. I appreciate the warm support my family and I received."
The Jets parted ways with Rex Ryan after also missing the playoffs in four straight years. The Jets announced the firing of GM John Idzik as well, after the team finished the season 4-12 — their worst record since 2007. Owner Woody Johnson was still grateful for what Ryan and Idzik did for the franchise.

"Both Rex and John made significant contributions to the team," Johnson said in a statement, "and they have my appreciation and gratitude for their efforts and commitment. Over the years, Rex brought the Jets a bold confidence and a couple of great postseason runs, which all of us will remember."
The Falcons had a disappointing year, finishing in third place in the NFC South, with a 6-10 record. Owner Arthur Blank announced the decision to fire head coach Mike Smith after the Falcons' loss Sunday, and called it the hardest decision of his life.
"I would tell you that probably including my 23 years at Home Depot, this was the most difficult decision I've ever had to make," Blank said. "And I mean that very sincerely. It was complicated by the deepest respect that I had, we all had, for Smitty."
Now that the teams have announced the firings, they will each start interviewing candidates for the available position.
