Ravens Trash Talk: Brendon Ayanbadejo Needlessly Bashes Patriots

After just barely sneaking past the Denver Broncos this weekend thanks to the worst defensive collapse in that team’s history, the Baltimore Ravens will head into the AFC Championship Game as 9.5 point underdogs.

Given how close they came to defeat and how much noticeably better their opposition is this weekend, you would think that Baltimore would try to stay quiet. You would think that they would put a special emphasis on not needlessly poking the lion – not creating unnecessary bulletin board material.

You would think wrong.

A day after his team miraculously beat the Broncos, linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo took to Twitter to offer up some keen observations how the New England Patriots play offense.

Check it out:

If Ayanbadejo was hoping to get a Wes Welker-esque slipup from one of the Patriots, he likely woke up disappointed on Monday morning. Here is what various players told USA Today of the Ravens’ feeble attempt at trash talk:

"He wasted no time, huh?" Patriots tight end Michael Hoomanawanui said with a chuckle.

"We've got other things to worry about, like who to block, how to run a route, what routes we're running," Hoomanawanui said, adding of Ayanbadejo's shot at the hurry-up offense: "Everyone's entitled to their opinion. We'll keep doing what's working for us and what's going to get us a victory."

"I can't speak for everybody but me personally I'm not on the social network, Facebook, none of that," cornerback Aqib Talib said. "So that's in one ear and out the other."

Said guard Logan Mankins: "It's always settled on Sundays."

Can Baltimore beat New England? Sure. Stranger things have happened in the last three days alone. But would anyone bet on them to do it? Absolutely, positively not.

Ayanbadejo will have a lot of time to analyze the Pats' offense after this weekend.
