After the New York Jets defeated the New England Patriots today, 30-27, a fight between some fans broke out at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
At one point in the brawl, a man wearing a Jets jersey punched a woman wearing a Patriots jersey in the head (video below).
According to Deadspin.com, the video was shot by a witness named "Rob" who stated:
Fight started in the stands with two girls fighting. And moved out to where I shot the video. Beer was thrown and clothing over the balcony. Security went after the guy. Didn't see what happened after that.

A Jets' spokesperson told the New York Daily News, “We are aware of the situation and we do not tolerate that behavior. Parties involved were detained and this matter is now in the hands of the New Jersey State Police.”
The Jets' victory over the Patriots was controversial because of a new rule this season, notes Newsday.
Jets' kicker Nick Folk originally missed a 56-yard field goal attempt, but Patriots' defensive tackle Chris Jones was penalized during the play because he pushed a teammate into the Jets' offensive line to try to block the kick.
Former NFL official Mike Pereira tweeted, "That is correct call in NE/NYJ game. New rule this year can't push a teammate into the offensive formation on a field goal or try attempt."

According to NFL.com, per the new rule, "players cannot push teammates on the line of scrimmage into the offensive formation."
After Jones was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct, the Jets got 15 yards closer and Folk kicked the ball through the uprights to win the game in overtime.
