ESPN reported today on Michael Sam's showering habits and how his bathing is affecting his heterosexual St. Louis Rams teammates.
RawStory.com noted that SportsCenter journalist Josina Anderson was reporting from the Rams' training camp where she asked players about the NFL’s first openly-gay football player and his showering (video below).
“[An unidentified Rams' player] seems to think that Michael Sam is waiting to kind of take a shower, as not to make his teammates feel uncomfortable,” stated Anderson.
Anderson noted that defensive tackle Kendall Langford and linebacker Alec Ogletree were not keeping track of Sam's showering, reports Deadspin.com.
“[Langford] told me, ‘Listen, I have not been in the shower at the same time as Michael Sam.’ He said there definitely could be a million reasons as to why that is,” added Anderson. “He said he could be doing extra work on the practice field, he could be riding his bike, he could be doing extra cardio."
Beyond the all-important showering issues, Sam did survive the first round of cuts by the Rams, reported ESPN. After three preseason games, Sam has five solo tackles and three quarterback sacks.
