Kansas City Chiefs Lose Eric Berry for 2011

| by Off The Record

The Kansas City Chiefs did not look like a good football team in Week 1. They got pasted by the Buffalo Bills 41-7, and while we didn’t see the game, they probably looked really poor in doing so.

It’s bad enough that they’ll be without Tony Moeaki this year, but now they’ll have to deal with one less great player on defense. According to Jason La Canfora, Berry busted his ACL and will miss the season.

“Another big blow for the Chiefs: S Eric Berry out for the season with a torn ACL suffered at start of Week 1 loss to Bills,” La Canfora tweets.

Ugh. Berry was a hell of a player last year as a rookie, and was one of the key guys they were counting on in 2011.

Jon McGraw took his place yesterday and looks like he’ll start this week alongside Kendrick Lewis.
