Patriots at Dolphins

Here we are again. It seems as if every year heading into week 13/14 the Patriots are riding an extended winning streak and looking to clinch the AFC East.

This year is no different; this Sunday the Patriots will be looking to extend their 5 game winning streak and claim their 4th straight AFC East title when they take on the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins on the other hand, after losing three in a row, are coming off their most impressive and encouraging win in recent history. After coming from behind 3 times in the second half to beat the Seattle Seahawks, the Dolphins have to be ecstatic with the team they are building going forward.

On Sunday though, the Dolphins will face their biggest test of the year and will need rookie Ryan Tannehill to play mistake free football and for Reggie Bush to have a monster game if they want to keep it close.

Prediction:

In the end, I think the Patriots just look too good on offense to be stopped and I don’t see the Dolphins, with a rookie quarterback, being able to keep up. Look for the team with the best turnover margin in the league (Patriots; +24) to improve on that statistic.

Cardinals at Jets

In a game that has virtually NO playoff implications, features two of the worst statistical quarterbacks, and two of the most pathetic offenses in the league as of late, doesn’t give us much to get excited about.

Not only that, but the only thing that has kept the Jets relevant in the headlines this year—Tim Tebow—is inactive.

To put the extent of the Jets/Cardinals offensive issues in perspective; it would not be surprising if there were more defensive/special teams points scored than offensive.

Prediction:

Both teams have struggled to find a way to win games as of late, which makes it tough to pick either team. The Jets are at home though and expect them to find a way to help save Mark Sanchez’s job for another week and manage to beat a Cardinals team that is on their 3rd quarterback of the year.
