2012 NFL Week 15 Preview: Seattle Seahawks vs. Buffalo Bills

| by

Another week, another NFC West team on a roll heading into Buffalo. This time it’s one of the league’s hottest teams in the Seattle Seahawks. You have got to like the Seahawks' chances in this one.

The Rams all but eliminated the Bills playoff hopes last week, and took away Fred Jackson in the process with a horrific knee injury. Motivation will be hard to come by for the Bills, and the Seahawks must be feeling pretty confident coming off of a 58-0 shellacking of the Arizona Cardinals.

The Seahawks offense is rolling, and assuming Sidney Rice can play should have no problems with the Bills defense. Russell Wilson had an efficient, but short game against the Cardinals, and should be very well rested for this one. It could be a golden opportunity for Marshawn Lynch to put up some massive numbers against his former club, as the Bills are ranked 28th in rush defense.

The defense is also primed for a favorable matchup. The Bills who were always short on offensive options, lost arguably their best one in Fred Jackson last week to a season ending knee injury. The Seahawks will also have Richard Sherman with them for at least this game, and he’ll be given the difficult task of shutting down Stevie Johnson. He caught one more pass than Larry Fitzgerald last week, so I’m liking his odds against Johnson.

Playing on Canadian turf, the Seahawks should be able to win this game. The Seahawks have to win this game to keep pace with the 49ers and have a chance of winning the NFC West, and I expect they’ll do just that. The Seahawks are the better team, and have more to play for. As such they should come out on top 28-13.
