Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader Alexa Brenneman has filed a lawsuit against the team for allegedly violating federal employment laws.
Brenneman's lawsuit claims the Ben-Gals cheerleaders put in more than 300 hours per season for mandatory practices, charity events, posing for the Ben-Gals calendar and required volunteer work, but were only paid $90 a game for cheering at 10 games during the 2013 season, notes Cincinnati.com.
Accounting for all the time she is not paid, Brenneman's lawsuit says she makes $2.85 an hour when the Ohio minimum wage is $7.85 an hour.
Brenneman's suit also mentions a Forbes article that estimates cheerleaders make their NFL teams an extra one million dollars a year.
