2012 NFL Week 11 Power Rankings: Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Browns

The AFC North went undefeated in a thrilling week 10 in the NFL.  A franchise record for points, an overtime thriller and an upset of the defending champs add up to a very successful weekend for this division.  Let’s see how the teams stack up in the grand scheme of the NFL in this week’s power rankings.

6)  Baltimore Ravens

The 7-2 Ravens jump up 3 spots this week and overtake the Steelers for the top spot in the AFC North.  Joe Flacco and company put up a Franchise high 55 points on the Raiders in their blowout win.  It looks like the Ravens have finally gotten back on track to a legitimate playoff contending team.  However, the true test is yet to come.  The Ravens play the Steelers 2 of the next 3 weeks and although Big Ben won’t be playing in week 11, this rivalry game is always one of the toughest of the year.

7)  Pittsburgh Steelers

Week 10 was not a good one for Pittsburgh.  Not only did it take a nail-biting finish to beat one of the worst teams in the NFL at home, but in doing so they lost their two time Super Bowl winning quarterback.  The horrible performance against the Chiefs is the reason they fell a spot in my power rankings this week, but the injury to Roethlisberger is the more important issue.  Byron Leftwich will lead the Steelers against their division rival at least this week, possibly longer.

22)  Cincinnati Bengals

The 4-5 Bengals jump up 4 spots this week after knocking off the defending champion New York Giants.  In fact, the game wasn’t even that close.  Marvin Lewis has the Bengals playing really good football right now and they could have some more wins on the horizon.  It is probably too little too late for this team but they are showing that this group, along with Andy Dalton, can compete for a playoff spot in years to come.

30)  Cleveland Browns

The Browns had a bye this week and the only teams I have behind them in my rankings lost, thus they stand pat at number 30.  This is a much needed respite with Dallas and Pittsburgh coming up on the schedule.
