There is some pretty significant news coming out of Atlanta on Saturday. Falcons coach Mike Smith told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu recently suffered a pectoral injury and, at very least, will miss the start of training camp.
Hansen came into his second season with the Falcons determined to make the roster, telling AtlantaFalcons.com’s Daniel Cox, “My goal is to make the active roster and get on special teams. That’s it, that’s my goal. There’s nothing else. I’d be cool with the practice squad again, but I want to make the active roster.”

The positive or negative effects of Twitter on a team varies from team to team and athlete to athlete. In the case of the Atlanta Falcons, it should be a good thing. The team is filled with veterans who rarely say or do things that bring negative press off the field.
Atlanta Falcons fans have been wondering for a long time whether or not someone can enact an offensive philosophy that can utilize all the weapons at their disposal. Mr. Mularkey had the likes of Roddy White, Tony Gonzalez, Michael Turner, and recently Julio Jones and Jacquizz Rodgers, but failed to make any dent on being a legitimate and fierce offense. The hope is that since Mularkey is gone from Atlanta that a new coordinator will take the new Atlanta offense to another level. Whether that actually happens or not is another story.
