The Falcons will open camp with Dent, Peterson and three undrafted players - Tennessee State's Rico Council, Pittsburgh's Max Gruder and Pat Schiller of Northern Illinois - at middle linebacker. There may be no position on the team that offers a better opportunity for an undrafted player to emerge in camp and earn significant playing time.

Nicholas, held out of minicamp with a toe injury, has been cleared for the start of camp. Nicholas and Sean Weatherspoon are backed up by Robert James and Spencer Atkins at outside linebacker.

Training Camp Battles to Watch

There's just too many players vying for a spot here to list.

The Falcons will turn the center and right guard starting jobs over to some combination of Todd McClure, Peter Konz, Vince Manuwai, Andrew Jackson, Garrett Reynolds and Mike Johnson. (And Joe Hawley. Oops.) Not all of those guys will be guaranteed roster spots and both positions are critically important for the offensive line, so it'll take one hell of a strong camp to come away with one of those.

Michael Turner Bakes Gourmet Cupcakes

Atlanta Falcons' star running back Michael Turner tried his hand at baking cupcakes for a good cause on Tuesday.

The celebrity bake-off of gourmet cupcakes was held at Gimme Some Suga Bakery Bar in Suwanee and supported the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
