Last week we took a look at John Abraham and whether or not he would reach the ten sack plateau. Then we wondered whether Michael Turner would hit the 1,000 yard rushing mark. Now we turn our attention to Matt Ryan.
Last year, Ryan set a career high for yards and TDs. He had 29 TDs last year, under Dirk Koetter's new offense will he be able to hit that 30 mark?
Joe: over 30 TDs: Ryan has thrown 28 and 29 touchdowns the past two seasons respectively. With a new system set to establish the vertical passing game and weapons such as Roddy White, Julio Jones, Tony Gonzalez, and Harry Douglas. Ryan should easily reach 30 touchdowns.
Zach: Matt Ryan will throw more than 30 touchdown passes. Ryan came extremely close to 30 last year, but finished with 29. This year Julio will be entering his sophomore year and there is a new offensive coordinator in charge. Atlanta's new focus towards the vertical passing game will present more opportunities for Ryan to throw for more yards and touchdowns. Add in that the Falcons have acquired potential fixes for the OL and there is no reason not to believe that Ryan can't surpass 30 touchdowns.
Kevin: Mike Mularkey believed in pounding the running game and now that he is gone it is going to open up the offense for the Falcons. The Falcons won't abandon the run but they won't be as predictable and their offense will be more versatile. Because of that, Ryan will break through the 30 TD barrier and will go over that mark.
