With the 2015 NFL Draft two weeks away, it seems like every day another rumor spreads. This time it’s from the St. Louis Rams, which are reportedly holding a private workout for quarterback Marcus Mariota on April 16.
The Rams are one of many teams interested in Mariota, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which own the first overall pick. But Mariota’s stock has risen quite a bit in the last few days and despite Jameis Winston being the favorite for most experts to go first, Mariota now seems like a good candidate to be called up first April 30 in Chicago.
The Rams flying out to Oregon to hold the private workout shows the Rams have enough interest in picking Mariota, but with their 10th overall pick, Mariota will most likely be gone by then. But the Rams could trade up in order to get the Oregon quarterback, and could even use their recently acquired Nick Foles and 2016 second-round pick.
Besides the Rams, the Eagles, Chargers, Browns, Titans and Bucs have all shown interest in the Hawaii native signal-caller.
