2013 NFL Week 4 Picks and Predictions

| by

Week 3 of the NFL season was full of surprising results. Will week 4 be the same? Or will this week’s games be more predictable? Here are you week picks for week 4:

(Cole Stevenson: 21-9 overall)

(Bryan Zarpentine: 20-10 overall)

Bryan Zarpentine: Baltimore 21, Buffalo 10 – Unless C.J. Spiller can get going and E.J. Manuel can be more consistent, the Bills won’t be able to score against the Baltimore defense.

Cole Stevenson: Baltimore 24, Buffalo 17 – If the Bills can’t beat the Jets, they won’t beat the Ravens. Although Flacco could struggle.

Bryan Zarpentine: Detroit 34, Chicago 31 – The Lions will take care of the football, and the Bears won’t be able to slow them down.  Another Jay Cutler comeback attempt falls short.

Cole Stevenson: Chicago 30, Detroit 28 – I could see this game going either way, but I’ll take Cutler over Stafford.

Bryan Zarpentine: Cincinnati 24, Cleveland 7 – Brian Hoyer isn’t so great against Cincy’s defense, and the Bengals have no trouble beating the Browns.

Cole Stevenson: Cincinnati 23, Cleveland 13 – Cincy is more balanced than the Vikings and have had a week to see Hoyer.

Bryan Zarpentine: Indianapolis 31, Jacksonville 10 – Andrew Luck has a big day against Jacksonville’s secondary, as the Jaguars get blown out yet again.

Cole Stevenson: Indianapolis 25, Jacksonville 13 – Yes, the Colts beat the 49ers last week, but they also barely beat the Raiders and lost to the Dolphins, so I could see this being closer than people expect.

Bryan Zarpentine: Kansas City 21, New York Giants 17 – The Giants keep it close, but they commit one too many turnovers against a great Kansas City defense.

Cole Stevenson: Kansas City 26, NY Giants 20 -- The Chiefs and Giants are polar opposites and that should lead to a Kansas City win.

Bryan Zarpentine: Minnesota 24, Pittsburgh 14 – Adrian Peterson has a big game, while Matt Cassell avoids turning the ball over, which is enough to give Minnesota its first win.

Cole Stevenson: Minnesota 20, Pittsburgh 17 –Really tempted to take Mike Tomlin’s group in this one, but the Vikings have AP.

Bryan Zarpentine: Tampa Bay 17, Arizona 14 – The Tampa Bay defense picks off three passes, while Doug Martin carries the ball 25 times, and that’s enough to eek out a win over Arizona.

Cole Stevenson: Tampa Bay 17, Arizona 14 – I don’t like either team, so I’ll differ to Bryan’s judgment.

Bryan Zarpentine: Seattle 20, Houston 7 – Seattle’s defense travels well, and if Houston couldn’t get in the end zone against Baltimore last week, they won’t be able to do much against the Seahawks this week.

Cole Stevenson: Seattle 23, Houston 13 – I know the Seahawks aren’t usually a good road team, but they are sky high on confidence right now.

Bryan Zarpentine: Tennessee 17, New York Jets 6 – The Titan’s defense takes over, and they won’t allow a rookie quarterback to beat them.

Cole Stevenson: Tennessee 20, NY Jets 10 – Jake Locker > Geno Smith.

Bryan Zarpentine: Dallas 30, San Diego 20 – The Cowboys can’t be stopped on offense, at least not by the Chargers, and Phillip Rivers becomes turnover prone in the second half, as the Chargers can’t keep up with Tony Romo and the Dallas offense.

Cole Stevenson: Dallas 31, San Diego 24 – Tony Romo and his receiving corps are clicking too well right now to lose to San Diego. Dallas certainly knows how to choke whenever people start picking them to win though.

Bryan Zarpentine: Denver 45, Philadelphia 24 – The Eagles will score some points, but they’ll also turn the ball over, and that will help Peyton Manning throw five more TD passes.

Cole Stevenson: Denver 48, Philidelphia 27 –If they want to, these two teams could turn this game into a basketball score.

Bryan Zarpentine: Washington 31, Oakland 21 – Washington starts fast, and with a big lead at the half, they force a couple turnovers in the second half to keep the Raiders from coming back.

Cole Stevenson: Washington 27, Oakland 24 – Eventually the Redskins have to win, right? Might as well do it against a subpar Oakland team.

Bryan Zarpentine: Atlanta 28, New England 17 – The Falcons need this game more, and the Patriots still don’t have consistency from their skill players.

Cole Stevenson: New England 27, Atlanta 26 – I Going upset here. If the Patriots defense can keep it close, we all know Brady can get it done.

Bryan Zarpentine: New Orleans 34, Miami 24 – Ryan Tannehill isn’t ready to keep pace with Drew Brees, and the Saints are too tough at home, but the Dolphins do put up a strong fight.

Cole Stevenson: If this game was in Miami, I’d still be sitting on the Dolphins bandwagon. Winning in New Orleans against Drew Brees is no small task though.
