Who would’ve guessed that last year Adrian Peterson would almost break the rushing record while Ray Lewis’ retirement ceremony would be a Super Bowl Championship? Exactly. Which is why it’s never too early to have a little fun and make some BOLD predictions for 2013:
Tony Romo will win a playoff game… finally.
Personally, I don’t think this is a very bold statement. However, the way people talk about Romo, you would think he is worthless. Romo is still a really good quarterback though and will find a way to win a playoff game (or two) this year.
The 2012 #1 NFC seed Atlanta Falcons will miss the playoffs.
With no running game and Matt Ryan’s security blanket (Tony Gonzalez) possibly gone, the Falcons offense could struggle while relying on the home-run ball all the time. Plus, Carolina and New Orleans should be much improved. I could see it.
Calvin Johnson will eclipse 2,500 receiving yards
If Johnson had a better supporting cast and more accurate QB, this wouldn’t even be a bold prediction. This guy is ridiculous.
Russell Wilson will win the MVP.
I know he relied on a great defense and running game for most of last year, but he came alive towards the end and put up crazy numbers for a rookie. With Lynch coming back and a solid offensive line, I could see it happening.
Peyton Manning will have more TD’s than the Raiders and Chiefs combined.
Peyton threw for 37 TD last year, and while the Chiefs offense (only 18 TD last year) should be ‘better’ with Alex Smith, I think Peyton and Co. could be that much better after a whole season together.
Ryan Tannehill will put up better numbers than Joe Flacco.
People have seemed to forget who Joe Flacco is during the regular season. With a better supporting cast and more experience, I could see Tannehill outperforming him.
Jacksonville Jaguars and Arizona Cardinals will not win a game.
Only problem is; they play each other, so one of them will have to win a game. Actually, they could tie, so I’ll stick with it.
