What Does Auburn Hiring Gus Malzahn Mean for Trooper Taylor?

| by

Yesterday, new Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn informed the assistants from Gene Chizik's staff that they would not be retained.  However, he did let them know that if his new offensive and defensive coordinators were interested in them, they could be hired back.

This leaves the world in a dark place right now, as towel-waver, perpetual backwards hat-wearer, and the NCAA's favorite recruiter, Trooper Taylor is currently without a job in the SEC.  That means we could experience a 2013 without any towel-waving, leaping hip-bumps with players, and NCAA recruiting investigations into ENTIRE towns.  Let it never be said the world isn't a cruel and vicious place.

Even in these desperate times, some hope does remain.  Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and possibly Auburn have assistant positions that remain open.  So, as the new head coaches at those schools (HOW'S THAT WORKING FOR YOU, TENNESSEE HAHAHAHAHAHAHA) finalize their coaching staffs, light your candles and join your fellow man in a vigil for the one coach who shall always belong in the conference that fully appreciates his skill set of waving fabric and familiarity with the first names of various NCAA employees.
