Katherine Webb is a bigger star than her boyfriend, A.J. McCarron. It’s not even debatable at this point. When you take an excruciatingly dull BCS Championship game being watched by 26 million people, mix it with a pretty girl, and sprinkle in a little bit of Brent Musburger’s saliva, what you’re left with is the new sports it girl of the moment.
Further proof of Webb’s superstar status was presented to the public on Wednesday when news broke that she would cover the Super Bowl for Inside Edition. Yup, you read that correctly – Webb officially procured an NFL-related gig before her boyfriend, the starting quarterback who led Alabama (behind the best offensive line in recent memory) to a National Title.
Per her Twitter:
So excited to be chosen to cover the Super Bowl XLVII for @insideedition in New Orleans!

What exactly will Webb be covering? Who knows. Inside Edition is hardly a go-to guide for sports fans that want insight on all things NFL-related. She may have zero reporting experience and no proven track record of being an even moderately decent sports analyst, but if anything, that just qualifies her to get her own show on ESPN.
For what it’s worth: while A.J. McCarron is getting outshined by his girlfriend on a seemingly daily basis, at least his girlfriend is real.
