The South Carolina Gamecocks got a recruiting boost before Christmas when junior college cornerback Ronnie Martin signed a national letter of intent to play football.
Martin originally signed with the Gamecocks in February 2011 but took a slight detour to Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Ga. He was regarded as the fifth-best junior college cornerback in the nation, according to 247Sports.
This is a big addition the the Gamecocks secondary as they need him going forward. Martin is likely to compete for playing time next year.
This is a happy turn of events for Martin as he has dreamed of being a Gamecock and took a long road to realize his dream. We welcome Ronnie and look forward to him doing great things at USC.
