Photos: Notre Dame Will Wear These Irish Flag-Looking Cleats vs. Navy

| by Alex Groberman

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, fittingly enough, will open the college football season in Dublin, Ireland this year. For the first time since 1995, the pride of Indiana will travel overseas to take on Navy in what promises to be a really exciting game.

In preperation for the big showdown, Notre Dame has decided to pull out all the stops. One of the things that will be different? Their cleats.

Check out the kicks that players will be sporting on gameday (via Notre Dame equipment guy, Ryan Grooms):

Very legit.

It remains to be seen whether or not Notre Dame will make any significant changes to the uniforms for this shindig. Last season, the program did bust out some very slick-looking throwback uniforms for a game against Michigan – so it would stand to reason that they would switch things up a bit for as huge an occasion as this one obviously is.

(Kudos to USA Today for the find)
