Justin Combs has been getting a lot of hate as of late for receiving a football scholarship from UCLA.

Why?

Well, mostly because he is the son of hip hop star Sean "Diddy" Combs and can afford to attend UCLA on his own. It makes some people mad because they think that someone who actually needs a scholarship loses it when someone who doesn't, like Justin, gets it.

Justin recently responded to his critics on Twitter:

Regardless of what you do in life every1 is gonna have their own opinion. Stay focused, keep that tunnel vision & never 4get why u started.

Regardless what the circumstances are, I put that work in!!!! PERIOD.

His mother Misa Hylton Brim also defended Justin on Twitter:

You want to penalize my son for working hard and putting education first? Shame on you. He deserves to be rewarded..#blessed kid

My son isn't taking money from a kid who NEEDS. He is on a MERIT BASED scholarship. UCLA has NEED based scholarships too. #ignorance

All of my hard work keeping my son focused and grounded.. I earned it too!! It wasn't easy considering... #fallback

I honestly don't see anything wrong with Justin getting a scholarship. The kid earned it. He is an amazing football player, so he got recruited. Along with that, he had good grades, reportedly boasting a 3.75 GPA.
