A Collection of Reactions to Nebraska’s Loss vs. Michigan

| by Alex Groberman

The Nebraska Cornhuskers got destroyed, dismantled, beaten senseless, embarrassed, humiliated, rocked, shellacked, creamed, stomped on and booted from Legends Division championship contention in Saturday’s 45-17 loss to the Michigan Wolverines.

Rather than waxing poetic about how this loss put the cherry atop an undeniably disappointing 2011 campaign (given the expectations), we at Opposing Views had decided to compile a list of reactions to what happened. These reactions are comprised of coaches, players and pundits – and they express the situation far more impressively than we could ever dream to.

“You can't play like that on the road and win a football game” – Bo Pelini, head coach.

“It's just like the wheels came off. And once that happens, boy, you start reeling” – Carl Pelini, defensive coordinator.

“It's embarrassing. It is what it is” – Corey Raymond, defensive backs coach.

“A comedy of errors” – John Papuchis, defensive line coach.

“If you get kicked in the gut, you'd better respond — kick them right back in the gut, and we did not” – Ross Els, linebackers coach.

“If you could write a script on how to lose a football game, that would be the perfect example” – Austin Cassidy, safety.

"With all the turnovers, it threw us off balance” – Taylor Martinez, quarterback.

“Meltdown at Michigan. Bust at the Big House. And lights out on a Big Ten title and a Bowl Championship Series bid.” – Sam McKewon, World-Herald Staff Writer.

“Boy, did this suck” – Husker Mike, Corn Nation Writer.
