Penn State to Stop Playing Sweet Carolina at Games Because of "Touching You, Touching Me” Part

| by Alex Groberman

With the 2012 college football season just around the corner, programs everywhere are scrambling to make last minute adjustments that they hope will make this year go by just a liiiiittle bit smoother. Penn State, a school that’s coming off a ridiculously tumultuous offseason campaign, is no different.

According to Larry Brown Sports, the powers that be at Penn State have decided to stop playing Neil Diamond’s Sweet Carolina at home games because of concerns that certain lyrics in the song are inappropriate given everything that’s transpired over the past year. The lyrics? Well, primarily the “touching you, touching me” portion.

In case you need a refresher:

Yeah, probably the right call.
