College Football Analysis: Many are Unhappy with Urban Meyer

| by

Urban Meyer, who had been rumored as a successor to the fired Joe Paterno at Penn State, is also dealing with his father passing away recently. Perhaps that may lend some insight into his state of mind and the poor way he’s going about dealing with this whole Ohio State thing,

Meyer continues to play coy about whether or not he’s leaving ESPN to coach Ohio State, but nobody seems to believe him; least of all his colleagues in the sportscasting business who are Tweeting that he should just get it over with already.

Rich Eisen of the NFL Network tweeted: “All the Ohio State fans banking on Urban Meyer: I sure hope he’s solved all his health issues. That’s the reason why he left Florida. Right?”

Tim Brando, host of CBS College Football Todaytweeted Saturday: “The handling of the Ohio St. hiring of Urban Meyer (which is happening) is as poorly handled as any I’ve ever witnessed. We’re not that dumb.”

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

Meyer, who coached Florida to two national championships, had been scheduled to be a part of the broadcast team covering Saturday’s Ohio State-Michigan game, but, after the rumors connecting him to the OSU job heated up significantly, it was announced Meyer would spend his game day in Bristol as part of ESPN’s studio coverage. As it turned out, he chose to not to appear on ESPN at all!

In a tweet, ESPN publicist Mike Humes wrote that “Urban Meyer won’t be appearing on ESPN this weekend. He requested off his studio assignment and we obliged.” What a shocker!

As I stated on Saturday, my guess is that he will in fact appear on ESPN after all… In a news conference announcing he’s been hired as the next head coach of Ohio State University!

There’s no news yet but I’m sticking to my guns on this one. Our source is still claiming that Meyer will be announced as the new OSU head coach on Sunday. There’s still a few hours left, let’s give it a few hours (personally I’m thinking it happens on Monday….)
