There is no good way to lose a college football game, but there are varying degrees of how heartbreaking it can be. On Saturday, Virginia Tech suffered one of the more unfortunate defeats we have seen thus far in the 2012 college football season.
Up by four with about two minutes to play, Logan Thomas and his offense were forced to stand on the sidelines and watch as Cincinnati expertly trotted down the field towards what felt like an inevitable touchdown. The sense of doom was appropriate seeing as, about a minute and a half later, Munchie Legaux put the cherry atop his squad’s nine play drive with this final pass:

Legaux finished the game with 376 yards, three touchdown and one interception on 19-of-42 passing. Thomas finished with 242 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions on 17-of-30 passing.
