College Football Week 7 Upset Alerts: Baylor, Oregon, Texas A&M and More

| by

Matt Elder of BuffaloBillsDraft.com is back to pick upsets for week seven. Back in week one Matt called the Richmond upset over Duke and since then we've decided to make this a weekly feature. Matt's got a scouting report on Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles up on his site this week. So make sure you head over there and check that out. I looked at some of the betting odds this week and it's slim pickings as far as I am concerned but Matt pulled through and gave us three games to watch out for this weekend. Here they are:

Ok so after a week off to recharge my brain and find a way to get out of this funk I'm in, I'm back with three more picks that I feel good about it. No more cute intros or talk about my record v. the spread, it’s time to get serious and make some winning picks.

Baylor over Texas A&M (-9)

Mark me down as a believer in RGIII! Im on that bandwagon and for that reason alone I'm taking the Bears here. It doesn’t hurt that the Aggies have lost two of their last three, or that their QB has thrown more INT’s than TD’s over that same time frame. This will be RGIII first big test as he travels to Kyle Field to play in maybe the most hostile environment in the country. However if RB Terrance Ganaway can keep rumbling and WR Kendall Wright can keep getting open than the Bears will roll and the Aggies will find their season in serious jeopardy.

Arizona State over Oregon(-15)

This is the pick I’m the most uneasy about as Oregon seems to be hitting their stride finally after a bit of a rough start. However James injury status is more than enough to pause for concern. Keep in mind the Sun Devils have one of the most aggressive LB corps in the country led by Vontaze Burfict and that without James the advantage may tip to them. Also we know QB Brock Osweiler can fling it and we are all waiting for him to have a big breakout game. I think he does this Saturday and pulls off a huge victory.

Iowa State over Missouri (-14.5)

Who in their right minds ever selects the Cyclones? Well when they are 3-2 have beaten Iowa, played Baylor close, and have a QB named Steele Jantz, I do. Missouri is a streaky team with a QB who has not shown me near enough yet. Iowa State has come from out of nowhere to be a consistent team this year. They control the line of scrimmage well and run behind their hulking OT, Kelechi Osemele. If Iowa State can control the ball and keep Franklin under wraps they have a great shot to win this game.
