VCU dominated this game from the beginning all the way to just about halfway through the second half, but Drexel refused to go down easy.
Behind strong play from Damion Lee and Chris Fouch, Drexel was able to rally back from a 16-point halftime deficit to bring it within one with just over ten seconds remaining. Unfortunately, Darius Theus, Treveon Graham and Troy Daniels were on a mission in this one, and when it was all said and done, they wound up snapping Drexel’s 19-game winning streak and leading VCU to its fourth NCAA Tournament in six years.
