South Carolina has had some success in recent years with basketball transfers. The names Devan Downey and Zam Fredrick should ring a bell.
It looks like you can add the name LaShay Page to that list if he gets his wish.
PalmettoSports.com is reporting that LaShay Page has touched base with South Carolina and would like to transfer back to his home state to play his final year of eligibility. Page was a prolific scorer in high school who spent one at the JUCO level before playing the past two seasons at Southern Mississippi.
Page started 32 out of 33 games this past season for Southern Mississippi and was second in scoring on the team with an 11.6 points per game average. He played the most minutes per game for the Golden Eagles with an average of 36.8 minutes per game. His free throw percentage was .821 while his three-point percentage was .352.

This could add some immediate depth and a potential starter for the Gamecocks at the guard position. While Page only had 25 assists this past season for Southern Mississippi, just having a veteran guard to add to the mix of young Gamecocks could do wonders for this team.
South Carolina needs a scorer and it looks like Page could be an answer for the Gamecocks. The NCAA will have to grant Page the hardship waiver that he has applied for before he is able to enroll at South Carolina.
This could be good news for the Gamecocks if it does indeed work out.
