The South Carolina Gamecocks are likely to sign power forward Michael Carrera to round out the Class of 2012. He visited USC over the weekend and is likely to make his pledge official on Monday according to TheBigSpur.com.
The 6-foot-6, 205-pound prospect, who is originally from Venezuela, had a strong senior year as he averaged 13.2 points and 12.2 rebounds to lead his high school team in Maryland. He chose the Gamecocks over offers from the likes of Gonzaga, Virginia Tech and Ole Miss.
Carrera is your typical power forward that the Gamecocks could need in hopes of playing "big" around the basket.
Here is a highlight video of Carrera and his team, the soon-to-be Gamecock appears 50 seconds until it but keep a watch on #42 throughout....
