The Phoenix Suns promised fans their money back if they walked away from Thursday night’s showdown having not been entertained. Well, seeing as the Dallas Mavericks went into U.S. Airways Center and handed the Suns a demoralizing 97-94 loss, it’s probably a safe bet that at least some of the fans ended up wanted their money back.
O.J. Mayo led the way for Dallas with 23 points on six-of-17 shooting. Darren Collison and Brandan Wright pitched in 16 points apiece off the bench. When it was all said and done, the Mavericks’ reserves actually outscored the starters – 56 to 41.
Meanwhile, Goran Dragic and Markieff Morris led the way for Phoenix 15 points apiece. (The latter’s came in much more efficient fashion.) Luis Scola chipped in 13 points and nine rebounds as well.
