The Utah Jazz were one of the truly great surprise stories of last year’s shortened NBA season. Under the radar and without anyone giving them any respect at all, behind their massive frontline, the Jazz secured a No. 8 seed in the West and made it to the postseason sans any recognizable big name stars.
A lot of people thought Utah would build on that success this year. So far, that hasn’t happened.
On Saturday, the Jazz fell to the Houston Rockets 124-116.
Patrick Patterson led the way for the winning side with 20 points on eight-of-17 shooting. Jeremy Lin and James Harden had 19 points and 18 points, respectively. Lin also pitched in eight assists.
Gordon Hayward led the way for Utah with 21 points off the bench. All in all, three Jazz players finished with 20+ in the loss.
