Smart Move? LeBron James to Play Flag Football

| by

By Surya Fernandez

LeBron James announced Wednesday morning that he will indeed go ahead and play a competitive game of flag football with Kevin Durant tonight. And it's going to be aired live starting at 7:30 P.M. EST with the kickoff scheduled at 8:00 P.M. I know, I know, X-Factor is on at the same time. What to do?

"LeBron's Flag Football Classic" was inspired when Durant spontaneously hooked up with a Twitter follower weeks ago and joined the lucky fan on the football field. LeBron immediately expressed an interest in joining in on the fun at a future date but with the lockout ending, no one really thought it was going to actually happen. I guess those videos of them training together were to get ready for flag football, not the NBA like we all thought.

Here's the official announcement from LeBron himself. Oh yeah, there's a few of his friends in the clip too. Will they be joining in on the fun?

Does anyone else think this is a bad idea? I know it's flag football and all but couldn't the two superstars just play some Madden at LeBron's house in Akron and call it a day? Let's collectively hold our breath and hope it's all just fun and games and no one gets hurt so it stays that way.
