Shaq Thanks Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler During Jersey Retirement, Doesn’t Mention Kobe Bryant (Video)

| by Alex Groberman

On Tuesday night, Shaquille O’Neal dedicated a few moments of his jersey retirement speech to everyone that mattered to him: his family, Phil Jackson, the Buss Family, Jerry West, Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler, etc. Notably absent from his shout outs list? Kobe Bryant and all of his former teammates.

While O’Neal and Bryant buried the hatchet years ago and there was likely no malice involved in the omission, it was still bizarre to hear O’Neal name drop Penny Marshall during his brief speech all the while completely ignoring the players who helped him win three titles with the team retiring his jersey.

Shortly after his jersey retirement ended, O’Neal sent out this tweet: This is what I want everyone to kno thank u very much Especially you Kobe http://youtu.be/CzUNO_CKWKE

O’Neal concluded the video by telling Bryant: “You were my teammate and my brother, and I’m glad to call you both.”
