Photo: Are These the New Oklahoma City Thunder Alternate Uniforms?

Oklahoma City Thunder fans are in for an exciting 2012-13 season. Even though their squad didn’t do much to improve the roster besides picking up Perry Jones III in the draft, you have to figure that an additional summer of growth for Kevin Durant (24 years old), Russell Westbrook (23 years old), and James Harden (23 years old) is as good as anything most of the NBA’s other teams picked up during the offseason.

That said, there is one thing that OKC fans probably aren’t too excited about. That one thing? The Thunder’s new alternate uniforms.

As first reported by Larry Brown Sports, the good folks at NBA 2K13 appear to have inadvertently leaked images of OKC’s new garb. And while this team has admittedly gotten a lot right over the past few years, these unis ain’t one of those things.

Boy, where to start. Besides the fact that the Thunder have inexplicably become the Thudner on these, the general blandness leaves a lot to be desired. It sort of worked when the San Antonio Spurs trotted out their horrible, warmup-looking new alternates, but that’s because they’re the Spurs. We expect them to be vanilla. Kevin Durant and Co. are one of the league’s most exciting teams – their uniforms should reflect that.
