Lance Stephenson Fined $5,000 For Pitiful Flop, On-Court Nap

Lance Stephenson took one expensive nap last night.

The NBA announced today that Stephenson has been fined $5,000 for his laughable flop and subsequent on-court nap in last night’s game.

Stephenson was covering LeBron James when LeBron took a jab step to the right before moving left. Stevenson was behind LeBron when he took the step, but that did not stop the Pacers guard from flying backwards like he’d just been hit by a truck.

ESPN commentator Jeff Van Gundy summed it up best when he said, “This is a comical flop. I mean, what an actor.”

Here it is:

Oscar-winning flop aside, Stevenson was the best player on the court for Indiana last night.

In other news from last night’s game, Paul George says he blacked out after his fourth quarter collision with Dwayne Wade. On a replay, you can see Wade’s knee slamming into the back of George's head as the two scramble for a loose ball. Here’s the clip:

George reportedly played with blurry vision for the rest of the game. NBA rules require players to be symptom-free for at least 24 hours following a concussion before they are allowed to play in another game. The Heat and Pacers have a three-day break between now and Game 3 on Saturday, so we will see where George is at then.

With their win last night, the Heat are now 11-0 in their last 11 playoff games following a loss. That’s how you win championships.
