What’s the first rule of making a joke? Be funny. It can be a clean joke. It can be a dirty joke. It can be a joke about Kobe Bryant, President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney, Mother Theresa, God or Satan – it doesn’t matter. Just make sure it’s funny.
During a recent episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, some random pretend wrestler named Abraham Washington proved that not everyone knows the first rule of making jokes.
Popular VideoThis judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:
In what was apparently a long, drawn out and mostly corny rant, Washington compared another pretend wrestler to Los Angeles Lakers superstar, Kobe Bryant, by saying that his boy was "like Kobe Bryant at a hotel in Colorado ... unstoppable."
Yes, he seriously said that.
Predictably, the WWE quickly came out and apologized for their guy’s moronic comments. Via TMZ:
A rep for the WWE has issued a statement to TMZ ... telling us, "A.W. made an inappropriate comment and WWE immediately apologized."
The rep adds, "WWE has taken appropriate action in the matter." It's unclear what kind of "action" the org. has decided to take.
What should we take away from the WWE’s quick response? Well, probably that when an organization famous for peddling necrophilia, murder, drug and prostitution storylines all in the name of “humor” thinks you’ve crossed a line – you've really crossed a line.
