Ex-Bucks Owner Herb Kohl Gives Awesome Parting Gift To Stadium Employees

| by Jonathan Wolfe

Ex- Milwaukee Bucks owner Herb Kohl sold the team for a cool $550 million last month. Even though he is no longer affiliated with the Bucks, Kohl still found room in his heart to do something really, really cool for all of Milwaukee’s stadium employees.

BMO Harris Bradley Center staff received a letter in a mail recently thanking them for their hard work.

“Today, I want to express my gratitude and appreciation,” the letter starts.

After a brief message, Kohl closes the letter by saying “That’s why I am pleased to provide you with a gesture of my appreciation.”

What was that gesture?

A $500 check. Every single stadium employee got one.

Here’s what a few of the employees had to say about the surprise.

"I go, and I open it up, and I see $500," usher Izael Atkins told WISN. "I am not quick to shed tears. I sat there and shed tears for maybe five to 10 minutes because nobody just walks up gives you $500."

Security guard Markeish Stringer echoed those sentiments.

"Five hundred dollars, so I was very surprised. I was very surprised. You don't hear about the people doing that," Stringer said. "It made me happy. You see the smile on my face. I was very happy.”

Atkins wanted to a deliver a message of appreciation to Kohl, but he found himself at a loss for words.

"I'm kind of speechless still. It's still kind of fresh in my head, but I thank you,” he said.

Well done, Mr. Kohl.
