Duncan Ties Magic Johnson's All-Time Playoff Double-Double Record

| by Jonathan Wolfe

Even though his team lost last night, Tim Duncan still managed to accomplish something very special.

By posting 18 points and 15 rebounds, Duncan tied Magic Johnson's record for the most double-doubles in NBA playoff history. Duncan has now notched a double-double in an incredible 157 playoff games, and only needs one more solid performance to stand alone atop the double-double mountain.

It took Timmy 231 games to reach the mark. In addition to Magic Johnson’s record, Duncan is quickly closing in on Kareem Abdul-Jabaar’s all time record for playoff minutes.

What’s almost as impressive as these records is the simple fact that Duncan has managed to play in 231 playoff games. Fun fact: the big man out of Wake Forest has played in more playoff games than 17 NBA franchises.
