The madness has finally ended. After eight games, five losses and one coaching change, DirecTV subscribers in the Los Angeles area will finally be able to watch their favorite basketball team in action.
Following a (sort of) lengthy standoff, DirecTV announced on Thursday that it struck a deal with Time Warner Cable to carry SportsNet (the Lakers channel) and its Spanish-only sister channel, Deportes. If all goes according to plan, SoCal fans will be able to watch Friday’s showdown between the Lakers and Suns – Mike D’Antoni’s debut game.
SportsNet will be channel 691.
Dish now remains the lone major provider who isn’t able to air Lakers games in the Los Angeles area. (League Pass Lakers games are blacked out in L.A.)
We have an agreement to carry #TWCSportsNet on Ch: 691 in time for the next game (Friday 11/16).
