Serge Ibaka Hits Blake Griffin in Groin During Thunder-Clippers, Doesn’t Get Ejected (Video)
When NBA officials begin to recognize you as the boy who cried wolf, you are less likely to get calls that you actually deserve. Blake Griffin learned that lesson the hard way on Sunday afternoon. The really hard way.
With less than two minutes remaining and the Los Angeles Clippers trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by only three points, Serge Ibaka hit Griffin in the groin during a scuffle in the paint.
Rather than ejecting Ibaka for his blatantly dirty and illegal move, officials let all involved play on.
That decision proved costly for L.A., as Ibaka made several key plays down the stretch en route to a 108-104 OKC victory.
Ibaka will almost certainly by suspended by the league at some point on Monday.
